That turn your yard into a sanctuary — where the sound of running water sets the whole space at ease.
THE SOUND OF A SANCTUARY — WATER FEATURE & FOUNTAIN INSTALLATION
There's a reason people gravitate toward the sound of moving water. It softens noise from the street, slows everything down, and turns an ordinary backyard into a place that feels like a retreat. Whether it's the gentle trickle of a fountain or the steady rush of a small waterfall, a water feature gives your outdoor space a sense of calm you can hear the moment you step outside.
More homeowners are making water the centerpiece of their landscapes — not as an afterthought, but as the feature everything else is built around. Tucked into a garden, set beside a patio, or anchoring a hardscape, the right water feature becomes the spot your eyes and ears are drawn to, transforming a yard into a sanctuary you actually want to spend time in.
Feature or Fountain — What's the Difference?
The two terms get used interchangeably, but they create very different effects. A water feature is the more built-up of the two — a composition of stacked rock, running water, and natural materials that work together, like a small waterfall cascading into a basin. It's designed around the sound and movement of water, becoming a focal point that feels like a natural part of the landscape rather than an object dropped into it.
A fountain, on the other hand, is more of a single, self-contained piece. It's a standalone structure — a sculpted basin, an urn, or a tiered design — that you place within a hardscape to add a touch of elegance and a quiet, pleasant trickle. Where a feature is built into the setting, a fountain stands on its own as an accent.
Both have their place, and the right choice comes down to the space and the feeling you're after. We help you decide where it belongs and how big to go — a fountain to anchor a courtyard or entry, or a full water feature to become the heart of the backyard — then build it to run cleanly and quietly for years, with the sound of water exactly where you want it.

Our design process
Start With a Conversation
Reach out and tell us a little about your property, your goals, and the outdoor space you have been imagining. This first conversation helps us answer initial questions and make sure Bayside Outdoor Living feels like the right potential fit for your project.
Walk the Space Together
If the project feels aligned, one of our design specialists will visit your home to walk the space with you. We will listen to your ideas, study the property, and talk through how you want to live, relax, and gather outside.
Bring the Vision Into 3D
After the on-site visit, your design specialist will begin creating a custom 3D design for your outdoor living space. This typically takes one to two weeks and helps you clearly see how the layout, features, and flow can come together.
